To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Carlon Genealogical Services, LLC, we are launching a new presentation series that combines the love of reading historical fiction with genealogy!

This series is inspired by the many historical fiction novels that Eleanor has read that continue to motivate telling the person’s life beyond the names, dates, and places. Her favorite novel is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

The amount of research that authors perform to accurately write their stories in another time and place can help genealogists understand the context and environment their ancestors lived in. We learn about different laws, events that took place that shaped the community, and different hardships that may have impacted our ancestors.

Each presentation in this series is 60-minutes long and comes with a handout.

The presentation can be paired with a book club beforehand (with extra charge) or it can be presented as is, inspiring attendees to read the book after the presentation.

If you have avid readers in your genealogy group and/or if you are looking for more people to join a book club with your organization, this is for you!
